Quality of life has been the cornerstone for practice in the area of physiotherapy and rehabilitation. Individuals affected with neurological or other deficits have been managed with medical care and then discharged often with advice to follow up at a physiotherapy centre for further care. The goals and recovery possibilities were not considered and hence a number of individuals fell short of their actual recovery potential due to lack of rehabilitation services.
At People Tree Hospital, the need to bridge the gap was felt and an initiative has been undertaken with the aim to deliver structured, specialist – Focused Rehabilitation to People with Neurological, Orthopedic, Respiratory, and Cardiac Deficits.
The center is being equipped to provide Physiotherapy, occupational and speech therapy using the state of art equipment and trained experienced faculty. Neurological, orthopedic, pulmonary, cardiac and sports rehabilitation are some of the services that will be offered at the center. In addition, the center will initiate programs on healthy aging for movement dysfunction and prevention of falls program. Rehabilitation/ Physiotherapy center will also focus on areas of vestibular rehabilitation, problems of cognition, pain management and training in activities of daily living.
